Dr John Leys is Leader of the Dust Watch Program and Senior Principal Research Scientist, Office of Environment and Heritage, Gunnedah, NSW.

Dr Leys undertakes research into wind erosion and dust storms. He aims to understand how climate and land management practices influence wind erosion and how wind-blown sand and dust impact the community.

Dr Leys and his team turn natural resource management data and information into knowledge that people can use to make a difference in the way the landscape is managed.
